EasySteel is a free application that helps you to build vacuum heat treatment recipes of steels. You can easily choose a steel (a specific stainless steel for example) and you’ll get all the information you need for preheating, austenitizing, tempering, quenching, etc.
EasySteel is an application created only for educational purposes and it is not intended for production use. TAVENGINEERING will not be held responsible for damage resulting from improper use of EasySteel in production environments.
EasySteel is provided to you as a PWA (Progressive Web App), that is a special type of web application that works on smartphones, tablets and even PCs. Moreover, differently from a standard website, a PWA can work offline too (you have to install it, read further). To access the application you simply must go to the easysteel.tav-engineering.com address or press the button below.
Go to the EasySteel app
You can just visit the aforementioned web address, taking advantage of EasySteel when you’re online, but if you want to use the app also when you are not connected to the Internet, you have to install it.To do this, depending on the device or browser you connect with, you will see a popup on the page or a button on the browser address bar.
Add to Home screen on Android
Install on Chrome for Windows
Install on Edge for Windows
The application is divided into 4 pages: Home, Recipe, Time and Analysis. The last three pages depend on the first one, that is every time you choose a steel in the home page, the other pages will change the displayed data. The data change will be highlighted by a green badge that appears on the pages that you have not yet viewed.
The menu bar
Do you need to vacuum heat treat high speed steels, cold work tool steels, hot work tool steels or stainless steels?Select in this page your preferred standard, a steel category and a steel type.A summary box of the choice will be displayed at the bottom of the page.
Given a steel selected in the home page, here you’ll find the approximate preheating temperatures (first and second), the suggested austenitizing temperature and the range of tempering temperature and cycles. You’ll also get the quenching media and the suggested gas pressure.
In this page you can tune the austenitizing soak time, given a desired steel thickness.
The final page will give you an overview of the steel chemical analysis and the corresponding hardness. The chemical analysis is expressed as a percentage of Carbon (C), Chromium (Cr), Tungsten (W), Molybdenum (Mo), Vanadium (V) and Cobalt (Co).
Press the button, install the application and enjoy it for free.
